Steam As It Once Was
Welcome
BACKGROUND DETAILS

The pictures on this site were collected in the period 1958 to 1961.

The shed pictures were taken on charabanc trips based from Manchester or Preston. Most were arranged by the RCTS.

My main camera at this time was a fixed lens Agfa Silette 35mm camera and this was used in 1958, 1959 and the first months in 1960 when I obtained a Rollecord VA. This was used for the latter part of 1960 and throughout 1961.

The b & w negatives were scanned with an Epson Perfection 3170 scanner and the resulting jpegs were 'tweaked' using Photoshop.

IMAGE DETAILS

Where possible I have provided brief details of the image. I am working from a database which is constructed from my notebooks. I still have some notebooks to list. Some pictures will therefore be marked Location Not Yet Established. Details may be provided in due course.

CHANGES TO THE SITE

I started this site by loading pictures from my shed bashing days. Most of the pictures I took between 1958 and 1961 have now been uploaded. I do have a few pictures taken by the lineside near the Roodee in Chester and these will on site in the next few months.

As Fotopic make Galleries obsolete if you do not make amendments and alterations on a regular basis I will load firther pictures taken from 1975 to date as time allows.
